JOB PURPOSE:?To act as a positive role model and be responsible for
the delivery and implementation of a high quality play-based
curriculum under the guidance of the national quality frameworks
Aistear and S?olta both indoors and outdoors. To, guide, observe,
stimulate and supervise children in a safe and caring environment as
part of the childcare team.
CORE DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
MAIN DUTIES:
* Provide a friendly, caring, learning environment for children.
* Ensure a safe and hygienic environment for children.
* Ensure a positive approach is created towards children so that
each child is encouraged to develop confidence and self-esteem.
* Work as part of a team.
* Organise the planning and implementation of age-appropriate
activities and programmes for children together with the other senior
staff member.
* Liaise with parents who are the primary carers of their children
and ensure they are always welcome in the centre.
* Monitor and assist the development of each child with others in
the team and provide regular feedback to parents in conjunction with
the Project Leader.
* Observe all policies and procedures in the centre.
* Be responsible under the direction of the Project Leader for
specific areas in the centre.
* Ensure records are kept as outlined by the Project Leader.
* Report immediately all aspects of concern to the Project Leader.
* Attend staff meetings.
* Commit to further training and attend team meetings /in-service
training as required.
* Be flexible as a team member and provide cover where possible that
is outlined by the Project Leader.
* Carry out relevant duties as assigned by Project Leader.
* Be flexible when required to ensure childcare centre is supporting
children.
PERSON SPECIFICATION:
* Commitment to high quality early education.
* The ability to work in collaboration with a dedicated team.
* Highly motivated to work on own initiative.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A professional and enthusiastic disposition
* Flexible and adaptable.
* Demonstrate a commitment to continuous professional development.
* Garda Vetting will be required as part of the recruitment process
on an on-going basis.
QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE
* A minimum of?FETAC LEVEL 5?or higher in Early Years Education is
essential.
* A qualification of FETAC LEVEL 6 or currently pursuing this level
in Early Years Education is desirable.
* One year post qualification experience of working in Early years
or recently qualified in Early Years.
* Strong understanding and experience in Early Childhood Education.
